Pumpkin Face

The scare of Halloween
pushes me deeper into Samhain—
my sinful creativity
delightfully free from inhibitions.

Now is the time to grin
and embrace all souls—
saints and sinners,
the veiled and the living be remembered.

Your eyes, two hallows,
lit up from within—
teeth jarring,
my lips meant to quiver afright.

Eerie romance,
three nights’ delight—
when worlds lean close
we kiss through candlelight.

    1. You still can. You’ll appeal to your hemisphere and my own then, for having both sides of the coin in mind, since you already wrote crimes of passion and shadow dancing. While my fire is lit to traverse the dark, yours is lit in celebration of blossoming festivities. Nice.
