I saw it
in a vision first.
Hessonite garnet,
wine-red garnet,
and carnelian—
copper connectors.
Grounding.
Come back down
gently
and safely.
Support
for Kundalini energy
that’s risen too quickly.
The state
can cause madness.
I would know—
wonderful
until it’s not.
I added a copper snake charm—
tiny, sweet,
with tongue Ssss-ing.
The snake
softened the whole piece
and made it sing
clearly.
And I learned
garnet
is my favorite gemstone.
Rich
and bloody.
My grandmother’s birthstone.
Velvet energy
that doesn’t lay down.
She’s a queen—
a grounded,
neutral,
gorgeous registry
of structured magnetism.
I am drawn to it
like a fiend.
And forever will be.
My pulse
likes its pulse.
Anyway—
it was the first
of the forbidden talismans
I made.
Glad
for the confession.

I like the bloodiness of garnet too. But I love carnelian. I had a disc of it set in a silver ring many, many years ago. Always made me feel a little wicked.

A silver setting with carnelian sounds beautiful. Certain stones really do shift our energy.
